Hello Vella Karman here, a homeschooled 11 year old. I am in 6th grade. I like to dance ballet, especially point, and I also write my own stories. I can't see what I am doing in ballet but I can feel the beauty of it, and I praise God with it. Maybe later I will post some of my stories, I want people to see my work but I am afraid they will think it's terrible and say I am awful at writing. But I still want your comments even if that's what you have to say, I'll try not to take it personally, I am looking for constrictive criticism so say what you really think.

We read about Esau, and his wives and children. Esau and Jacob couldn’t live together because they had too many animals. They have a lot of crazy hard to pronounce names. There were a lot of chiefs that came from Esau. We also learned about Jesus and how Israel was when Jesus was alive. Jesus probably spoke Hebrew, Arimaic, and Greek! Wow that’s a lot!!! Most houses in Judea had one story houses, they only had meat on holidays. Everyone wore tunics.

Today we learned about Japan, and more about Easter Islands. We read a lot a bout King Arthur, we read it for forever. That must of been the longest chapter we have ever read!!! I really like King Arthur but this chapter took lie and hour to read and even I was like, can it be ovvvver yet!!!!!!!!!! We read about this guy who was nice but a very good fighter.

We read about microscopes in science. We also learned about Atlis, and weather balloons, they have small weather stations on them, they use them to forecast weather, (hence the name.) They have and use them all over the world, after they go up so many feet the balloon bursts and it falls back to earth. That’s how they get them, back to earth. We wondered if someone has ever been hit on the head by a small weather station when they were falling back to earth. that is funny to think about,it wouldn’t be funny if they got hurt but it is still funny to think about.

Tornado in Mississippi

There was a tornado in Mississippi on Saturday the 21st . Four people were found dead and there was massive damage done. A collage was shut down because of damage and houses are completely wrecked. They thought there might be more storms on the way on Sunda,y but luckily they were wrong. They estimate over 20,000 dollars in damage was done. But help is on the way, so hang in there Mississippi!!!

Mom went to the store today and we watched Adi. It was ok. I am teaching Lava tricks like come, heel, jump and so on.

We read about various different islands in the Pacific. We learned about New Zealand mostly, and a few others such as Polynesia. We learned about the big heads on Easter Island, they weigh more than 50 tons!!! That’s a lot!!!

We read about Jacob wrestling with that man. I wonder what or who he was. Was he an angel? Was he God or Jesus? Or was he something else? We also read about Nehemiah, his enemies tried to trick him by using fear, and lies. they also used false prophets, and said God was against their deeds. The reason Nehemiah had success was because he obeyed God no matter what. We read more crazy poems today, I wish we didn’t have poems next year, or come to think of it this year either. They don’t teach us anything except for that most poems are crazy!!! We signed a petition for no more poems but mom wouldn’t do it. We read about Australia in history. They ate disgusting things, like roasted moths and bats, and snake meat!!! We learned more about energy in science. There is heat, chemical, light, food, potential, sound, magnetic, nuclear and so on. We have to use the crazy math triangles.

We read about Labon catching up with Jacob, and their covenant. We read poems about things from cows to apples to houses near woods to houses on a hill, I think they are supposed to have some sort of theme.

In science we learned about density. They answered questions like how do submarines go up and down, why does wood float and rocks don’t, and why does a big metal boat float? We also did a science experiment, we made a bubble in the top of a cup, and we watched it get thinner and more colorful until it popped. We just learned about light waves and measured them, so we talked about what we think happened as we blew on it and how the color was shaped.

In LA I had to start research for a report about Arkansas, I found a lot of good things. I found out where Arkansas got its name, and I also found out when it was first explored. I learned some new interesting things about Arkansas!!!

I think that Jacob made up the idea of giving a tenth of your things to God. I didn’t know it was his idea! We read a crazy folk tale about a guy named Sinbad, he got stranded.

We learned more about Islam, mosques, and Muhammad. Did you know that the crescent is the sign of Islam? I have no idea why.

We read some crazy poems that I don’t understand and don’t care to relate.

Homeschool Journal 1/23/17

In Bible we read about when Jacob went away from his father in law. We also learned about Zackariah and Hagiah.

Japan is one of the oldest nations. Honshu is the biggest and most dominant island of the four  in Japan. They believe in Shintoism and Buddhism. Japan started a dynasty called the Yamato dynasty a long time ago and they are still on the throne today.

We went to Walmart today, we did a pickup. Then we went to the library. We read about Jacob’s wives and kids. It is very confusing. We also read some awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful awful poems. And my package didn’t come but dad’s did, and he ordered his after I ordered mine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In history we learned about China and it’s dynasties. The names are a bit interesting, we learned about the building of the grand canal, and China’s golden age.
