In The Children’s Bible Field Guide we learned about Joshua who may have been an officer in the Egyptian Army. Earlier in the Bible God said that the people of Canaan were not yet “evil enough to punish.” In History we learned about the founding of Rome. We read four poems.

Halloween, most kids would be saying “yay my favorite holiday,” at least I think. But not me, I’m the kid who didn’t even know how to spell it right until today, (there was a red line under the word so I tried a different spelling and it worked! Ha, that’s crazy, when does it ever work:) We believe that Halloween is celebrating Satan. All the dressing up as scary things and such, they say “it’s just for the candy,” or “it’s just for fun.” Did I just take the words from your mouth? Exactly. We defonitly have fun, Purim, Passover, Sukkot, and we’re even celebrating Christmas this year!!!! The first three are holidays the Bible tells us to celebrate, I’m not saying you’re wrong in celebrating or not celebrating these things, God has led us down this path, but God may not want you to go down it too.
Bible started with Moses dies, Victory. Isn’t that funny? Moses died, they crossed the not flowing Jordan river on dry land. Joshua was in charge of the army before Moses died, and it took years of fighting to conquer Israel, we looked at a map and it used to be a lot bigger!!! Did you know that the walls of Jericho were more than 46 ft, and it may be the oldest known settlement known today. We saw a picture of the ruins, Israel is known as the land of palm trees.
Assiria was conquered by Babalon, it was conquered by Persia, Persia and Greece were conquered by Alexander the Great. We read the founding of Rome from two books.
Adding stuff like feathers and tails to “prove” evelution. The list of these changes goes on and on.
AT&T in a movie?
by Vwala •
AT&T has bought Time Warner Inc. for $85.4 billion dollars!!! They are probably going to use it for marketing. It is now going to own a lot of the movies and TV shows they let people use. It will probably be a good thing for them.
To fight or not?
by Vwala •
As the fight continues in Mosul, there were a bunch of attacks around Kirkuk before dawn on Friday, the 21st. Killing 14 people at the least, and starting a big fight with the security guards. Three suicide bombers attacked a power plant in Dibis, killing 14 people. A reporter for a TV station covering the attack was killed while covering the fighting. Bartella was liberated by Iraqi on Thursday. The fighting Keeps on going.

I didn’t do journals this week but by the time I’ve gotten around to it I lost my notes!!! So I don’t really have much to say about this week except I had a lot of trouble with bible, and mom didn’t read my LA so I didn’t do it. And I also got a A+++++ in science because mom forgot to take some questions off my sheet that she decided that I didn’t have to do, so I did them and got them right. I got 22/15 right. I hope that boosts my grade, because let’s just say science isn’t my best subject because it’s all reading, and I’m a visual learner. I just found some notes so here is more of what I learned.
Did you know that ostriches have claws? Isn’t that crazy? I didn’t know that they have claws, they are just folded up into the wings.
There were a bunch of Russian Christians a long time ago, it was . The Spartan men and boys trained for war almost all their lives, they had to train, take a test, and then serve for pretty much all of their lives. They would rather die than lose a battle. That is serious stuff. There is a famous ancient scholar named Plato, so does playing with Plato stimulate your mind? Who knows. But this reminded me of a guy a once knew named Famous. Seriously. He was nice, I played chess with him.
Did you know that Away in a Manger was originally a poem by Martin Luther? But upon further research that may not be proven true. Its first known printing was around 1883, near his 400th birthday. I also hasn’t been found anywhere with his other works, so it may just be a “marketing gimmic.” Information credited to Wikipedia.com

This week is our week off but we were behind so we did some school today. I finished except for what I can’t do. In Bible we read some more 1 Corinthians. In our Science experiment we were supposed to see a certain kind of force by putting a drop of water on a slide and sliding another up to the water. I don’t know what was supposed to happen but it didn’t.

Today we learned about Alexander the Great and his generals. We also learned about the Native Americans. One people group carved 10 9-ft. tall heads. We read 13 poems about rivers and the ocean, winter sports and a new section about bugs and other small things.
Tapioca comes from cassava in Central-America.

by Reed Karman •
The Arkansas Aviation Hall of Fame added three new members recently; two Vietnam Army pilots and a WWI engineer. The heavily decorated officers Brigadier General Lynn C. Hooper and Colonel David Wallace flew several dangerous missions in the thick Vietnam jungles while engineer Jesse Vincent designed the Liberty V-12 engine.

Today Mom Reed Adi and the same kid who we’re babysitting again went to the store to pick up our online order. I stayed home to do school. :( I have several things I’m dreading such as four math lessons, and two current events. Tomorrow I have a church lock-in which is going to be really fun!!!!!!!! It is for fifty-six which is the thing I’m in, it’s sort of the transition between Sunday school and youth group, next year I’ll be going to regular church on Sundays and then youth group on Wensdays. As already stated by the name, at least I hope the name made it clear the fifth and sixth graders get to do the lock-in. I went last year and it was a ton of fun, we get to have inflatables inside the church and we roast marshmellows outside, we also have basketball and volleyball, and later we watch a movie. I went to sleep at two-something last year, and then I had ballet and stuff, this year I plan on going to bed before two, because I have point class, Nutcracker practice and other stuff to do on Saturday. But I still plan on staying up late, even though I’m already staying up until 10:30, or later on a regular bases.
Tapioca is from the Cassava plant, we use tapioca to make flour, and pretty much everything. The Nazca drawings are amazing, but they used math. Noooooooooooooo!!!!!! Art isn’t supposed to use math!!! The crazy 9-feet tall heads are amazing, most people are only five, or six feet tall! Just think if they had bodies!!!!!

I added some pictures for fun. :)
