Hello Vella Karman here, a homeschooled 11 year old. I am in 6th grade. I like to dance ballet, especially point, and I also write my own stories. I can't see what I am doing in ballet but I can feel the beauty of it, and I praise God with it. Maybe later I will post some of my stories, I want people to see my work but I am afraid they will think it's terrible and say I am awful at writing. But I still want your comments even if that's what you have to say, I'll try not to take it personally, I am looking for constrictive criticism so say what you really think.

Today we were suppost to go to the musiem of discovery, but because Reed was feeling sick we didn’t get to go and instead we decided to go on sunday and postpone a puppet show that I had planed and it is probubly going to be very werth it because dad gets to go with us, and I still get to do the puppet show later that day.

In school today I didn’t have much to do, I did a bit of reading (about indians) and it was fun but took a long time. It was mostly about they’re homes and how it’s changed from tippis to log houses.

In current events I had to write my report and I am going to type that up after I finish this journal. My report was about china changing how much the yuan (they’re currency) is worth.

Today I also did a bit of china, I had to quote a chinise person and explain what I thought they meant by that quote.

Today Reed and I had spelling at the same time. It was fun, Mom gave Reed two spelling words and then gave me one.

In the little bit of china that I did I had fun, I was making a time line of china and I wrote about china nowadays and they have made a lot of improvements like joining the world wide trade thingy, and making the three gorges dam.

In binder work I took a story I wrote earlier in the year and added a simile, shortened it, and improved the wording some. It was really hard but also fun and afterwards I felt accomplished.

We just finished reading this book and I thought I’d give it a review.       I give  it a four out of five star review. It is about a missionary and his wife and  they’re struggles to translate the bible, learn a new language, and do all this in a different culture. It’s an awesome book but there are some gross and a couple of ugly things described in it.         I don’t suggest it for 4-6 year olds because of the cultural difference, and no lack of adjectives in it.

Today science was realy fun we learned about IQ tests and how scientists know that your DNA controlls part of how smart you are. The way they proved that was twins seporated at birth got the same test scores. We had alot of fun doing the simple IQ tests they gave us it was so much fun and the questions for science were mostly easy and fun.

I finished this weeks math today, and it was ok, not very fun but what can I say, it’s math. I learned alot because it was about adding more than two numbers at the same time, like three.

In history I read alot about china nowadays, and did you now that in the early 2000 they’re were alot of presidents resining in china, and that china became a republic because the people wanted and fought for one?

Today I did some extra work because friends are coming over tomarrow and we wont get a whole day of school done. Math was fun, and I did good on my spelling test. That’s all I got done because I didn’t have that much time, plus I didn’t have to do extra school.

Today was the second day of school, and I of course had spelling first again today, and I only missed 1 today giving me a A/96 percent and my mom made me find out the persentage in my head with a lot of help from her. Then I did my binder work, today I had to read through a couple of sentences, and rewrote a different couple of sentences using more descriptive adjectives. Afterwards we did history and read more about the 10/40 window and about “Why committed Christians should focus on the 10/40 window.” And so on and so on, a whole chapter about it! Then we where suppost to read bible but we had already read it with our dad/prinsible, witch was fun!!! After that I did math, and worked more on the ten key number system, and you’ll never geuse what I found out, if I click on it I can change my icon to a bunch of different stuff, and it’s realy cool + I figerd it out all by my self. Later I had a lot of history B the stuff I do by myself and I had to read more about China and communisim the write three things I learned about communism. And I also did more research about the thing I’m writing about. After that I think I did binder work and didn’t get much done. Then we had lunch, and nothing unusual happened exept for I had cake for dessert. Afterwards we did science and learned about all the systems like the resputory, and what they do for your body, and the 3 questions we had about it were pretty easy and fun, I thought question 6 was cool and realy made you think.

Today was the first day of school. The first thing I did today at school was have my daily spelling test, it was pritty easy and I only missed 2 out of 25 words giving me an A /92 %. Now I might sound like a realy smart kid now that I told you what percentage I got in spelling, but the reason is because I get to use this cool thing-a-ma-jigger that tells you your score. Now this might seem weird to you but today is a Friday, now you might ask “What’s so weird about today being a Friday?” Good question!!! Now if you where paying much attention to what I said earlier you would of noticed that the first thing I said was “Today was the first day of school.” You realize now? After spelling I went over my binder work for the next couple of days with my Mom/teacher, now you might be saying “What’s this I see?” Well the reason of all this crazyness is, well… I’m home schooled. Now you are in the mind of a home schooled ten year old girl struggleing through life and being…. different. Now back to what I was saying, after going over my binder work we did history A and my mom read about the 100 gateway cities. Then she read some of John in the bible. After that I read aloud 6 times Psalm 91.Then I had math and worked on learning the ten key number system. after wards I did my binder work, and read some of Genesis. Next I wrote down tree facts I had learned about china that day, because earlier we read about china. Later I did some research about something that I’m going to write about in two man times my school newspaper which I run all by myself and used to be mine but my school took it over. Then we went on a field trip for lunch to china taste and picked up our meal and ate it with chopsticks at school sitting on the floor with our shoes off like they do in china, afterwards Reed and I had fun eating   ice cream with chopsticks.
