We are learning about David and Solomon. David was a good, God fearing king, but he still made mistakes. But he was quick to admit his sin and God forgave him. Under David they had 10 times as much land as they had under the Judges. Solomon was wise, but he didn’t use his wisdom sometimes.

I like Octarain/Agustus better than his adopted father Caesar. He wasn’t power hungry like him, and he was willing to step down.

We learned about microbes in science today, we are mainly learning about Protists. Did you know that viruses are strands of DNA or RNA? And scientists debate whether they are alive or not because they don’t reproduce by themselfs and other such things.

In The Children’s Bible Field Guide learned about David and Solomon. We read five poems about cats. In Science we read about virus and bacteria. Viruses are not considered alive unless they have a host.

Augustus means “majestic and imposing one”.

In Bible today I had to make a comic about one of the stories about David in 1 Samuel. I chose David and Johnithin, I don’t know how to spell Johnithins name right. It took a long time, I did stick figures and wrote a little bit of the story. But I had to rewrite some things to have enough room to write what they say, but it is a very shortened version. I showed David and Johnithin talking before, the hiding place, Saul saying David must die, and Johnithin shooting arrows. I know there is a few more parts, but I had to make it shorter. I thought it was interesting that it was Davids idea to lie to Saul, I didn’t really think about it before.

7.8 EARTHQUAKE

A 7.8 earthquake in New Zealand around midnight startles sleepwalkers. With two dead, one of a heart attack. They don’t think any more people have been killed, but you never know. This major earthquake went on for about three minutes, causing hundreds of millions of dollars in damage. This earthquake also caused a minor tsunami, almost making it a national crisis, but they decided not to declare it a national crisis because they are prepared to deal with the damage. That’s months of work for New Zealand right there.

Today in bible I read about Saul and then had to tell someone why he failed, it is because he disobeyed God. He did it a bunch of times, and then he tried to hurt David, who had God with him. Today I had to do 8 science questions, they were ok.

Journal 11/15/16

I think the blog must of deleted this journal, because I wrote it. It is now next week and I don’t know what happened to it, or all of what happened on this day. I am sorry. I drew pictures of two giants and named them Math, and Spelling, then I had to write a bible verse about not being afraid from 1 Samuel 17 under it. I wrote some of what David said to the giant. I didn’t finish science yesterday so I had to answer about 14 questions. It took a long time.

PARADE FOR KOREAN WAR VETERANS

A parade in Fayetteville honored Korean War veterans for Veterans Day. Reed Hamman, one of the few live ones, was Army Special Operations Officer in the war attended the event. The head of the organization that hosted the event said that the Vietnam War overshadowed the Korean War and that soldiers who served in it are “truly forgotten warriors.”

Today we went on a field trip to go shopping, mom took us to khols to look for things we need, and to pickup some food. It took a long time, and then tonight we went shopping at savers, and we found a game we used to have but had to get rid of that wasn’t missing too many pieces, and we got it!!! We played it in the store waiting for dad to finish trying on pants, and it’s really fun. We will get a few days off for thanksgiving, and dad’s birthday is this Saturday. So that’s what’s going on in the next few weeks.

Because of fore mentioned activities we didn’t get much school done, (mom likes to go during the day so it’s not as busy) we didn’t even do our history!!! So I don’t have much to write about, but I did get to do a few things. I did critical thinking, and I labeled things by size for that. And I did handwriting, it was okay. I also finished my reader, it was Shades of Gray, a great book about the time after the civil war.

Today we did not do together stuff or Science Experiment. I read about penguins in Wordly Wise 3000. In Code I made a story using guess what… code! Big surprise. I read seven Psalms that David wrote and had to tell what David probably felt while he wrote it.
