The Anti-Nuclear Weapons Association of the United Nations has sent representatives to Iran to test their new probe for nuclear activity. As all of their experienced testers were on missions already on missions they sent rookies. The beginners did well and conducted a perfect examination. Iran’s probe passed and will be launched into space two months from now and we have little fear it will explode the world.

Today a friend came over he has been mentioned in Reeds journals too. He cries a lot. It is hard to do school while he’s crying. I had to be super quiet a bunch because when he’s not crying like mad he’s either eating or napping pretty much and it’s so hard to get him to nap so when he’s napping we have to be quiet as posible, witch is so hard and crazy anoying.
I did a lot of binder work today. It was hard. I had to read my bible verse some today. It was sort of fun but very hard. It took a long time.
Today I wrote directions to go with a map I made. I also made the map today. It was very fun. I even got to take a break from school while I tested it. I found a problem with it and fixed it before it got graded.
VETERAN TELLS STORY OF USS RAZORBACK
by Reed Karman •
John Moore, a Navy veteran, climbed through the old submarines hatch. It was the 70th anniversary of Japan’s surrender in WWII. He cranked up the up the radio and said “C-Q, C-Q, C-Q, C-Q,” (which means “I seek you.”) Mr. Moore was finding people to tell the story of the USS Razorback.
It was launched in WWII and fought some of the Japanese Navy at Pearl Harbor, then it went over to the East China Sea and was present at Tokyo Bay for Japan’s surrender along with the other 11 submarines that survived fighting the Japanese from the starting 64.
note-Now the submarine is in North Little Rock in the Arkansas River as tourist destination.

Today a friend came over. I got a ton done today. I am still behind though.
Today I did a lot of science. It was very hard, I had hard questions. It took a lot of time. But I finally finished it.
I also got a lot of binder work done. I wrote a paragraph about Pocahontas and what I thought of her. It was sort of fun. It took a long time. I also did a creative writing type thing where I took some sentences and put them together in a paragraph. It was super duper hard.
Today I recited a chapter of the bible to my hamster. I did it only because I was tiered of reciting it to my stuffed animals and decided that I was ready for a live audience. I also as part of current events today I read about a hamster that does trapeze. Emma (my hamsters name) you need to spend more time training.
VALLEY FIRE DEVASTATES
by Reed Karman •
The Valley Fire in Middletown CA has destroyed 600 houses and dislocated 13,000 people so far, 9,000 more homes are threatened. only one person was killed. A 72 year old woman with MS who was not able to exit as the fire enveloped her house.
People in the area have said that “the fire season used to be to be confined, now it’s year round.” Rain is on the way but that and the 1,200 firefighters fighting the fire will probably do little to stop the fire.

NEW HABITAT FOR THE MEDITERANIAN
by Reed Karman •
From the Gorges Crab in 1898 to the Devil Fire fish in 2011 the Mediterranean is teeming with life, life that is supposed to be thousands of miles away.
Invasive species are popping up in the Mediterranean from oceans around the world, including dangerous species such as the Cardinal blowfish whose poison can cause paralyses. Some species are not directly dangerous like the rabbit fish which eats algae. Harmless right? Wrong, it reproduces like, you guessed it, a rabbit. Schools of it eats all the algae in a very large area and destroys the habitat. Researchers have identified the expansion of the Suez Canal as the problem.
For the underwater photography industry “it is a present” but scientists think that soon the Mediterranean will have a new habitat and that all it’s old creatures will become extinct from the area. Also it will not be a popular tourist destination anymore.

President Obama changes Mount Mckinley’s name to Denali.
by Vwala •
Denali is the tallest mountain in North America. It is 20,320 feet tall. It was named after President Mckinley, until it was renamed Denali. President Obama is officially renaming it Denali on Monday during a Presidential trip to Alaska. Denali is the traditional Alaskan native name. It means high one in Athabascan. Although the Ohio delegation is against the whole thing, Obama is still renaming it. Since Mckinley was from Ohio it has always been a concern of Ohio to protect Mount Mckinley’s name.

We started a cool new book today, it is about missionaries in china. I had the hiccups today.
Binder was easy, and sort of fun. I keep on worrying that I’ll do a bad job but it’s still sort of fun.
Critical thinking was really hard I had to make certain amounts of money using nickels and dimes.
I had to do spelling late because we had a late start, and there where no free tables so I had to not use a table.
Today I started making a lego chinese fashion timeline, it was lots of fun, but took a lot of time.
