Hello Vella Karman here, a homeschooled 11 year old. I am in 6th grade. I like to dance ballet, especially point, and I also write my own stories. I can't see what I am doing in ballet but I can feel the beauty of it, and I praise God with it. Maybe later I will post some of my stories, I want people to see my work but I am afraid they will think it's terrible and say I am awful at writing. But I still want your comments even if that's what you have to say, I'll try not to take it personally, I am looking for constrictive criticism so say what you really think.

Turkey’s Problem

The U.S is working on finishing up a program, which is going to resettle 10,000 immigrants mostly from Syria. They are coming up to Greece and Turkey from Syria and Libya. Some countries have been refusing to take in Muslim immigrants, so Turkey is being flooded with immigrants. Turkey is now backing the rebellion against the Syrian President.

As some of you know, I’ve had braces for four weeks as of today. Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 100 left to go, and then a retainer during day and night exept when eating for about a year and then a nightime retainer for the rest of my life. Wow, that sounds a little bit intimidating.

I wrote an outline about going to the beach, I an A. B. C. and D. two a’s and b’s, and it was three layers deep. It took a while but was pretty fun. I had groups on all the capital letters.

I tried out for the Nutcracker on Saturday, and I might get to be a bonbon!!! Yay, but I won’t know if I get a part and what it is if I get one until this Saturday or next Wednesday. It is driving me crazy!!!!!!

The persentige of chance that a land animal could become a whale by acidentule mutations is probably about 1/364 followed by 1,625 zeros/ IMPOSIBLE.

Today we went on a field trip to the dollar tree. It was fun!!! I got some molding clay, three little pots, and a bag of plastic medals. We went in the afternoon, then the locksmith showed up 45 min. early and we had to rush home to have him tell us he couldn’t do the job, at least we found another locksmith who can, but he needs to order a part.

I was learning about pronouns in school, it was pretty simple. I had to circle all the pronouns in the paragraph they gave me and then do a couple practice questions. Basicly, not much to write about.

We read about some really fierce warriors and there was a picture of them and they looked like tall toddlers still in diapers. I have written this journal 2 other times and my computer has deleted them. So that’s all that I remember

This morning I didn’t fell good so I didn’t get very much done. I felt better after lunch so I got most of school done, because I took yesterday off Mom took some things off so I managed to get all but one subject done. Thank you so much Mom!!!

In science we did a experiment. We dropped a milliliter of water on our pennies, they looked like a cross between a domed glass showcase and a magnifying glass. I put a bit extra and mine over flowed. Then we put a drop less than a milliliter on the penny (27 drops) and added one drop of soapy water, the soapy water breaks down the regular waters cohesion and the penny overflows. That was my prediction, now for the results: Try 1. overflowed before the soapy water, try 2. I put the water in the wrong place and it tipped over the side, try 3. I put everything in but the soapy water and reached over the penny to put the bowl with the water down and got the water all over my wrist, try 4. success, except my prediction was wrong. I had to put 2 drops of soapy water to get it to over flow. Now it doesn’t overflow, when I want it to. Silly water.

Today was Adi’s birthday, so I mostly took school off for the day. We went to the rocket park, witch is a playground shaped like a rocket. It is a ton of fun, on the way home we stopped at a gas station and got gas and some treats. I got a ice cream sandwich as big as my hand, and Reed and Adi got shlushies and air heads. Later mom and I went to a toy store to get a present for Adi, but they didn’t have the game mom was going to get for her. So we looked around and  found this fun little fishing game were you wind it up and it spins while the fishes mouths open and close, I had it when I was around her age and I loved it. Later we all went to the store to get stuff to make our own rock candy, I had been wanting to do this for months and Adi had just learned about sugar crystals and it seemed to be the perfect time. We also got Adi five ballons, one doc mikstuffins and the rest pink. We desided to make two orange flavored rock candys. For dinner we had homemade pizza and chocolate cake with kit cats frosted around the sides pudding on top of that and gummy worms then a layer of oreos and more gummy worms. She got a little stuffed animal mouse with a little braclet that I used as a collar and a little slinky she also got some games and $15.

Today my mom babysat some friends again. The morning was very productive considering. We went on a field trip to the library, and I was almost done already checked out and stuff and Adi was just starting to look at books. I’m glad that I found everything easily, and I got some extra reading time in too.

I was “taught how to subtract again.” It’s not bad, at least it’s not to hard, plus it makes school go much quicker. Math was done in a flash because of that, so the morning went pretty smoothly altogether.

I looked up a letter the main character wrote in the book I’m reading and I had to check if it had all the parts of a good letter. The person forgot to sign the letter. The part of a good letter are heading, greeting, body, signature.
