Yesterday we didn’t do school because it was Adi’s birthday! So today I did some make-up work. I “learned” how to borrow in math. We went on a field trip to the Chiropractor today, I got to do some reading. In my school reading I read a book about silkworms and moths. It was sort of gross. I memorized Phillipians 1:2-3 for Bible this week, it is a good one to memorize. But then again it would do us good, and all of them are good for, memorizing.

New Books By Vella Karman

Don’t you just love new books? The smell, the feel, a story just waiting to be read, whatever your favorite part, (though I hope its not the taste) new books are a favorite among young and old.
Lucy was walking down Main St. for the first time when she saw it, a bookstore! Since Mum had said she could explore, that meant she could go in, right? Looking towards where she had seen Mum and Tracy last, she scanned the crowds. Finding them in the bustle, she caught Mum’s eye. As Mum winked and pointed at the bookstore, Lucy grinned. She nodded, Mum knew her so well! Lucy opened the door and stepped into one of the magical places it seemed God had made just for people like her. She was greeted by the familiar smell of new books, shiny new covers covered the walls, at least a thousand of them, just waiting to be read! She picked up the nearest one and stuck her nose inside. Such fresh, fine, soft pages she thought, fingering a few. She admired the book, a copy of “To Kill a Mockingbird” nice and new, with a beautiful, smooth cover.
I believe that everybody should get the feel the sensation of walking into a bookstore, and hearing all the books almost calling your name, “Read me!” “No, read me first!” “Me, me, me!” So if you still can’t smell that brand-new book smell, keep on sniffing!

Some of you may ask “what are there four more of?” and “did I miss something?” The answer to these questions, in no particular order are “No, and there are four more years until I will be starting my last year of school.”
In English I wrote my first (most likely of many) essays. They gave me more direction on what they wanted, and how they wanted it to be done.
In math, they taught me how to add. Seriously this is seventh grade math, people. Well that’s that for math.
We started a new book titled, “But Don’t All Religions Lead to God?” The simple answer to this question is “No!!!!!!!!!!” And that is just what the book said. We also had an interesting discussion due to this book about Protestant v.s. some Catholic thing.
Did you know the Dutch have had only one dynasty!!! That’s a first! The dikes are in the Netherlands, Netherland means “far-away,” so people think that the Netherlands were far away when they named it! Did you know that tulips used to cost about as much as a large house!!!!!

I am very very very behind. I have a little less than a week of school to do. I’m still not done with Tuesdays school, oh yeah, of last week. School is like a pit that’s being dug, I am trying to fill it up, but for every shovel-full of dirt I put in, three more get shoveled out. So that’s been my day, shoveling dirt. Oh and also we went to the library and I got my summer reading!!! I can’t wait to start them, If I ever fill the hole until tomorrow I am staring them early!!! Also I listened to this really great song you should listen to, it’s called “Hills and Valleys.”

We read some crazy poems. They are still tongue twisters. I finished math before 9:30, I got a A+ in my Quiz.
We read about Mansa Moosa, he was a king who went on a pilgrimage, he gave away so much gold he had to borrow money to get back and the price of gold in Egypt plummeted. H e built a mosk every Friday whereever he stopped the whole year and a half it took to go on the pilgrimage!!!!!!!!! There is mystery around Zimbabwe.

They made history pictures because most people couldn’t read so learned everything they learned by pictures, even right and wrong. What happens if they made a mistake in pictures and they thought they were supposed to do what the pictures said not the opposite.

English people had some awful history paintings. I call them history paintings because they show history. They had really pretty stained glass windows though. Architecture is pretty intresting, they used pretty colors then. I think simple machines are way more fun than complacated ones. Glassed for farsighted people were invented way before ones for nearsighted ones. I guess they concidered it more important to see up close, or nearsighted ones were easier to get to work.
