Iraqi Kurds will vote Saturday to select 111 seats out of over 700 candidates. 5 seats are reserved for Christians, 5 for Turkmen, and one for an Armenian. A self-ruled region in Iraq, its elections were delayed last year by the central Iraq government.

Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh and the woman who accused him of sexual assault on her in high school are scheduled to testify in the court case on the subject. They are the only testifiers. Mark Judge, the friend of Kavanaugh’s who the woman says stopped him from continuing his assault, has no memory of the event and does not wish to testify.

China taxed $60 billion dollars worth of US goods. Followed by said target threatening to raise it’s tariff to 25%. According to Chinese economists, China can’t afford a dollar-for-dollar trade war with the US.

 

South Korean President Moon Jae-in conducted talks with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in North Korean capitol Pyongyang where they agreed to dismantle a North Korean nuclear missile testing site. The two countries leaders were friendly with each other.

Todd Maxson, the doctor hired to create a trauma center in Little Rock, the only in Arkansas, was hit by a drunk driver about midnight while coming home from work on his motorcycle, was taken to the trauma center at the hospital, and has been there for the last 9 months. The center he created may have saved his life, because he brought the mortality rate from 30% to 16%.
