In History we learned about the Mayans. They were a city-state society. We read six poems, a lot from Germany. The thickness of lava determines who much gas it can trap. Thick lava can trap more so the pressure builds up. It also moves slower down the volcano and makes the sides steep. Runny lava lets gas escape almost right away and volcanoes with runny lava frequently erupt in small amounts. It also runs down the volcano fast so the slopes are shallow.

The country of Israel approved their first West Bank settlement in over 20 years. Most of the world considers it to be Palestinian territory and therefore illegal for Israel to do so.

In history we learned about the Mayans, they lived in Mexico. I thought they lived in America, but mom said they lived in Mexico. The Mayans are interesting, they built many great things. They had a horrible religion. They did human sacrifices!!! A friend of mine, (Tutu is her nickname) and I are doing a play of the diary of Anne Frank, it is really really sad. But it is also fun, I would like to be in a play someday.

If Mongols had no food while they were raiding (which they didn’t often) they would cut open a vein on their horse, drink some blood and close it up again. Genghis Khan was 13 when he became king of his tribe. We read 5 poems about men.

In Bible David snuck into Saul’s camp and did not kill him with his own spear while he was sleeping. The second time he spared him. In The Children’s Bible Field Guide we learned about the arresting and beheading of Paul. In history we had an overview of European explorers. We read six poems, two French, two lullabies. In science we learned about rocks and minerals and energy we get from the earth but just fossil fuels and nuclear energy.

In Bible Gideon thinned his army and attacked the enemy. We read four poems about boys. In The Children’s Bible Field Guide we learned about Jesus’ followers, especially his disciples. People think that biometrics accessing your bank account will be the money of the future. In science we learned about airport security and anti-counterfeiting measures.

We read about Paul being tried in Rome. Did you know that Paul was a Roman citizen? Paul had a lot of horrible experiences. We have moved into American countries. In science we are learning about the layers of rock.

In Bible we read about Abigail and her husband. Their servants said that their master was so worthless no one could talk to him. In History we learned about the kingdoms of North and South India and Southeast Asia. We read three poems. We postponed our Friday Science till the summer.
