Homeschool Journal 5/11/17

I am very very very behind. I have a little less than a week of school to do. I’m still not done with Tuesdays school, oh yeah, of last week. School is like a pit that’s being dug, I am trying to fill it up, but for every shovel-full of dirt I put in, three more get shoveled out. So that’s been my day, shoveling dirt. Oh and also we went to the library and I got my summer reading!!! I can’t wait to start them, If I ever fill the hole until tomorrow I am staring them early!!! Also I listened to this really great song you should listen to, it’s called “Hills and Valleys.”

We read about some awful battles over who would be king in Bible. Disgusting, I don’t like how many battles there are. Or battles in general. In history we learned about Martin Luther. He was a very very good person. I like his list, and I am glad I don’t believe the way he used to. We read some okish poems.

In Bible David became the king of Judah and had a civil war with the son of Saul. We read five poems from the Caribbean Islands and Mexico. In science we learned about global warming and rain forests.

In Bible we started 2 Samuel. In History we learned about conquistadors and the Spanish Empire. We read four Indian poems. Currents are formed by heat. If parts of water or air are warmer than others they expand and then push themselves away from the cooler air or water and form currents. Wind is cooler air replacing warmer air currents.

We learned about the taking over of America. Most of the people died because of the other countries greed. They died of sickness that they brought as well as war. We read about wind in science. Air is always moving, it never stops. So I think that makes all air wind, or is there another difference between the two that I don’t know about. If there is and you know about it please comment. I finished math really early today.

In The Children’s Bible Field Guide we learned about Paul’s letters. In History we learned about the Portuguese Empire. We read eight African, Chinese and Japanese poems. In science we learned about earthquakes.

Today we watched some little kids, one of them is rough so I went up to my room. I have been reading Brucko, I think everybody should read it, it is a little hard to read but it shows that we aren’t the only ones fighting God’s will, and what can happen if we give up fighting and . If this book doesn’t awaken a want to serve Him in you, then nothing will. It inspired a song and I will post the chorus soon, so keep an eye out for Stop Fighting by Vella Karman.

We learned more about indians in history, I am ready to learn about something else. I can’t wait till summer!!! We went to a braces appointment today. We also went to the store and bank. We didn’t get much school done. I am getting better at logic.

Today it has rained a ton, we had lunch early in case the power went out, it didn’t, sadly. It is still raining now. Lava (our cat) has been in our laps during science. Because we are learning about him!!! Science is ok, but sort of scary. I didn’t get very much school done today.
