Today a private school friend of mine came and did school with us for a while. She said she wished she could be homeschooled the day before, after she had told us she didn’t have to go to school today and tomorrow because of parent teacher conferences. That was the beginnings of a brilliant idea. I invited her to do school with us today, and she still liked the idea of homeschooling at the end. (Lots of people get wrong ideas of homeschooling-many think I don’t do school at all and play all day.) It was fun. It is a lot better doing school if you are doing it with friends.
I wrote a pretend newspaper article about something in one of my books that I had to read. I will type it up and put it here.
Boy Earns Reel in Marketplace
Young Young-sup, son of lacal rice merchant earned a reel from honorable kite seller Chung on a trip to town. The courageous boy offered to fly a kites in front of his stall to attract customers, in seven of Chung’s kites were sold before closing he could have the reel. Six kites were sold bought before closing…The last one was bought in the nick of time. In the last seconds as Young-sup reeled in the kite, defeated a little boy bought the seventh kite. Earning Young-sup the fine reel. Rumors spread about why a merchant boy could not just buy the reel. Perhaps his father denied him the joy of having a reel of his own? Or possibly he could not afford such an expense for luxury, whatever the reason Young-sup earned a fine reel on his own.
