Today is Lava’s second day with us, if you count last night when we went and got him around seven. We spent about an hour looking for him this morning and we only let him in one room!!! We finally found him in the arm of the couch!!! It turns out it is hollow, well you never want to play hide and seek with Lava. He is scared of us some, he was fine at the store but he got scared when we brought him to his new home. Us kids slept out with him and he found that he could walk on the window sill and he went almost all the way around the room because it is pretty much a closed in porch out there, they closed it in to turn it into another room and it has so many windows we call it the sunroom. But back to school, I did a math lesson, and I did some field guide but that is all I remember because it is a while later than the day I am writing this journal for. It is New Years Eve, and I was sort of distracted from school with Lava. It sounds sort of dangerous to play with Lava, but all he does is some play biting and swatting, so it is pretty safe.

We are still on break. I am still finishing the school I should have had done at least two weeks ago. I did a math lesson today, and I played with our new cat, it is his second day here. I did a current events about the “Russian hacking,” wrote a weeks journal. Came up with some cat inventions, and went to the library for the first time after getting a cat… Lava is the cat’s name, Reed came up with it. So here is a tongue twister I made up, and two spoofs on everything is awesome.

U.S. Mad at Russia

The U.S. has blamed Russia for trying to mess with the U.S. Election. They ejected 35 Russian diplomats, and shut down some Russian compounds in New York and also in Maryland, there has been some hacking and they say it has been tracked to Russian computers. Russia’s government says it isn’t behind the hacking. Obama has put out sanctions, but Trump has ejected that who knows who could be doing it, so who knows how long these sanctions will last.
Homeschool Journal 12-16 (Cat Inventor)

Some of this stuff I didn’t actually do the week I was supposed to do it but it is still this weeks stuff, so who knows when I actually did it. I had to brainstorm an invention, we just got a cat two days ago so I picked cat toys, I was supposed to write what they do and how I could improve it. I wrote for cats to play with and I thought, wouldn’t it be awesome it the cat toys would play with the cat by them self? I know other people have already tried this. I’ve seen the feather that goes in and out of the holes, the robot mice, and even the mice that spin around. But I wanted to do something else, so I tackled a few problems people have with their cats. Number one, dehydration; cats will get dehydrated just a water bowl and wet food every once in a while is fine, but I wanted something else. So I came up with the idea of the water bowl being attached to them, it would be attached to their collar and it would be breakaway so when they jump it would detach. Number two, getting their collar off; now the only way to really be completely guaranteed it won’t come off is for a non breakaway collar, but you really don’t want that. So I figure the cat won’t try to get it off if they want it on. Now think about that, does it make sense? Of course it makes sense but how would I get them to want their collar on. This sounds a bit cruel but it isn’t that bad really. Take their food bowl away for half a day and give them a treat ball that opens by it’s self if it senses their collar, it might take a couple tries of doing this and putting the collar back on and showing them they get the treat if their collar is on for some cats, but it could work. I have a couple more ideas but they will have to wait because I already have a word count of 359.

I read some friendship Psalms and learned that being friends with God is like being friends with with.. well, God. I don’t know how else to describe it. I did this today on the 21st but I was supposed to do it on this week so I am putting it in this weeks journal, this will be true on some of the other things as well. I had to do a ton of science questions, it took a long long long time. I can’t wait to be done with school!!!!!!!! In Bible I had to search foolish and wise people and the difference between them is that the wise are better friends than fools, and fools don’t worship God, and they laugh at those who do.
The Enchanting Nutcracker (That I’m in!!!)

Ballet Arkansas’s Nutcracker is back at the Robinson Center tor their annual Nutcracker performance. The Robinsom center was under construction last year bur now the revisions are completely finished. The enchanting ballet was performed nicely this week with five performances and two dress rehearsals making it a crazy week for performers in both casts, (trust me I know!!!) so that is the end of the beloved Nutcracker until next year!!!

I made a valentine for Israel from God. It was fun, I read Hosea 11 and 14 to get ideas for how to decorate it and then I wrote a couple verses on it, I used glitter glue, so it has to be awesome, right? I do not think I would of liked it under king Jeroboam’s rule but I would of liked it under Jehu’s rule, I think that was a lot of killing though. But God wanted it. I didn’t do any math today but I did do Lumosity.
I had to make a wisdom banner with a Psalm on it and post it on the blog, it says “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” I couldn’t find my current events to type it up so I don’t have that up yet, tomorrow is supposed to be the last day of school but I have about 35 things left to do and we are watching a movie tonight. The 35 things are liberal, I counted them.

We are now on vacation but we are behind so we are catching up this week. I did one math lesson today. I didn’t do spanish and Lumosity and it is really the 21st right now but I am so behind I hadn’t written this journal yet. We were supposed to do some science saturday but we didn’t end up getting to it. It is crazy it is only six days till christmas, in real life it is only four but I am saying how many it would be for the day I am writing the journal for. I hope that made some sense to you because it was supposed to but I am not sure if it did and my mind is much faster than my fingers so I might have subconciously cut out words so my brain wouldn’t be quite so far ahead. I now realize that I have said a ton but all I have told you about the nineteenth is that I am doing catch up work, I didn’t do Lumosity, which I just realized you don’t know what is (it is a website with games to train your mind, it is really fun), and I did math, so math took a long time, I did Bible, I did a Bible study for school with my dad, and it is pretty cold here for AR.
