Homeschool Journal 4/8/16

I have been reading for the last 150 days one Psalm everyday for my Bible Reading subject. If the curriculum had not split 119 into four days then I would have finished today. In Science we learned about scientists wanting to make “perfect people” also known as elites. If this technology came out only the rich people would be able to get and then these people’s kids would be even smarter so they would make more money and that would take money from the poor so they wouldn’t be as smart as all the rich people.

PRIMARIES IN WISCONSIN

Trump has joined Cruz in telling Kasich he should drop out of the presidential race. Trump argues that if he can’t win he shouldn’t be allowed to run. “He just taking my votes,” says Trump. Trump also reannounced that he will run as an independent if he loses the Republican primaries.

Follow up:

Cruz has taken the republican votes in Wisconsin. Trump said “Cruz is worse than a puppet, he is a trojan horse being used by the Republicans to defeat me.”

I had a really hard time with binder work. I was supposed to think of a hook for a paragraph about the pro’s and con’s of having the sabbath. I ended up moving it to tomorrow, because it is past my bedtime right now and I still haven’t finished school. I told you about my prep for this writing assignment yesterday and tomorrow I will do the real thing.

In science we learned about leavening agents, the top three are, baking soda, baking powder, and yeast. Leavening agents work by releasing carbon dioxide, air, or steam when mixed with liquid and those gases make things rise.

In bible we learned about Jerusalem attacked. In Science we learned about leavening agents and what they do to leaven. The three main agents are yeast, baking soda and baking powder. They all create carbon dioxide when mixed with water and and acid. Yeast also requires a certain temperature and sugar. The gases that cause leavening are carbon dioxide, air and steam.

In Bible we read about the doomed flock of people who will face God’s wrath. God said “Let die who will die. And annihilate those who will be annihilated. And let who is left eat their flesh. In 100 Gateway Cities we learned about Ouagadougou. It means place of the Ouaga people. It is the capitol of Burkina Faso.

Homeschool Journal 4/5/16

Today we read a weird poem about coat hangers. in 100 Gateway Cities we read about Bamako, the capitol of Mali. It means crocodile pool. It has 1,708,000 people. In Mary Slessor she went back to Africa and moved further inland.

It isn’t even lunch yet and I’m almost done with school!!! I am so exided. I am going to have a bunch of fun today!!! I can’t wait!!!

Bamako is the capital of Mali, Mali used to be a great empire. It means crocodile pool. 1,708,000 people live there. There is lots of poverty there. After the Mali Empire declined, Mali became one of the poorest countries ing the world.

Science was about how to use the sun and stars to help you find your way. I can now use the big dipper and southern cross to find my way at night and a stick, two rocks, plus about 15 min. to make a compose.

We read an awful poem about clothes hangers. I really didn’t like it.

homeschool journal 4/4/16

Conakry is in Guinea. Conakry doesn’t mean anything. 1,645,000 people live there, there’s lots of poverty there. It is on an island.

I learned about possessive and singular nouns. And how to know wether to add s, ‘s, or s’. It was a confusing until my mom helped me. It was easy after that.

We started a new read aloud today. It seems different, I don’t know if I’m going to like it. The things in the story happen in Africa.

Homeschool Journal 4/4/16

Today Mom gave us a choice of doing a Journal today without notes to see if we could retain the knowledge. I chose to and Vella did not. In Bible we read about the punishment of the Gentiles. In Science we learned about compasses and maps. Our historic Read Aloud is about a missionary to Arica named Mary Slessor. Today in our reading she got Malaria and has to go back to Scotland to recuperate.

What’s with weigh stations

Some truckers are suspected to be avoiding weigh stations, because they are bypassing exceptional weights. Arkansas has made a virtual weigh station to help fix this problem. The money came from a grant that the federal motor carriers safety administration gave them. The federal highway administration praised the technology of it saying it has “the potential to fundamentally change the way truck size and weight standards and regulations are enforced in the United states.” I f all goes well they are hoping to install it in 1-1/2 months.
