NAFTA talks continue on in 2018. Canada seems convinced that the US will leave NAFTA. The negotiators seem to not be agreeing, but Freeland’s opinion is that an agreement can be found. Businesses like the Retail Industry Group don’t seem happy with the prospects, but are hanging on. With everybody wanting something or another in the trade agreement NAFTA seems to be in a bit of a predicament.

In Bible we read about Pentacost, when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples. I forgot what Pentacost was and I was going to ask mom what it was to see if there was a hidden meaning behind the Holy Spirit coming then. But when she told me I laughed so hard at myself. Ohh well, it was a good thought, it just didn’t turn out too well.
We read a poem by Edwaard Lear. He was one of the youngest of 21 children!!! He was lonely as an adult. Probably because he was used to so many siblings! His poems are lonely too.

We read about Sual becoming Paul in Bible. He barely escaped from people who tried to kill him several times. I am glad that God can change people so much, or else a lot of people wouldn’t be saved! I didn’t realize that Paul stayed about two years in the place where he got back his sight before they persacuted him, that explains how he had people to help him get out in a basket so soon!
We learned more about Napoleon in History. Today he won all of Austria’s land in Italy. I personally do not remember that Austria had any land in Italy. They probably won it in another war. We read about Waterloo too, the Battle of Waterloo is very famous.

Today we started watching our neighbor’s chickens. She has four hens and she asked us to watch them until Sunday. We get to keep the eggs that they lay during that time. I like the chickens, I am slightly afraid of them, but then again when I first met our cat, Lava I was afraid of him too. (And he is a ‘fraidy-cat)

In history we learned about South America becoming free. And then getting recaptured by the Spanish. And then getting it’s freedom. There are no more ups and downs, sorry. We learned about Simon Bolivar, he is who they named Bolivia after. They are spelled very differently, nevermind, that doesn’t matter very much. Bolivar wanted South America to be run like the US. Although he accomplished much in his lifetime, sadly, his dream was never a reality.

Today we stopped early to go to a thing at about 4:30. We fed the chickens today. They are loud. I am sad that we only have two days left. I hurt my back on Wednesday. It still hurts today. I didn’t get very much school done.

In Bible today I had to make a comic about one of the stories about David in 1 Samuel. I chose David and Johnithin, I don’t know how to spell Johnithins name right. It took a long time, I did stick figures and wrote a little bit of the story. But I had to rewrite some things to have enough room to write what they say, but it is a very shortened version. I showed David and Johnithin talking before, the hiding place, Saul saying David must die, and Johnithin shooting arrows. I know there is a few more parts, but I had to make it shorter. I thought it was interesting that it was Davids idea to lie to Saul, I didn’t really think about it before.

Tirana is in Albania. Tirana means ancient name of Tuscany. 538,000 live in Tirana.
We started a new book named “Whatever happened to penny candy?” It seems to start ok, it’s about economics and money. I think I will like this book even though economics isn’t my best subject. Economics is confusing!!!!! Whatever happened to bartering? The only thing that makes me think they stuck with money was because if the person who has what they need or want might not want what they have to barter, but everyone wants money.

Today I didn’t get much school done partly because we went to the Chiropractor and the store this morning, also because I spent a lot of time helping mom with our dessert for tomarow when we have people over for diner, and also partly because I’ve been trying to get this thing that I need to work to do part of my school to work and it took a bunch of time but it still didn’t work.
In binder work I had to choose a animal to learn about and I chose Pandas. I chose Pandas because they are my second favorite animal and they’re endangered.
I did two days of spelling today. I am behind in spelling and it was good to do two because it helped me catch up. I got a B in one and a A in the other one.
