Homeschool Journals 12/11-12/15/17

12/11/17

In Bible we read about Pentacost, when the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples. I forgot what Pentacost was and I was going to ask mom what it was to see if there was a hidden meaning behind the Holy Spirit coming then. But when she told me I laughed so hard at myself. Ohh well, it was a good thought, it just didn’t turn out too well.

We read a poem by Edwaard Lear. He was one of the youngest of 21 children!!! He was lonely as an adult. Probably because he was used to so many siblings! His poems are lonely too.

12/12/17

We read about Sual becoming Paul in Bible. He barely escaped from people who tried to kill him several times. I am glad that God can change people so much, or else a lot of people wouldn’t be saved! I didn’t realize that Paul stayed about two years in the place where he got back his sight before they persacuted him, that explains how he had people to help him get out in a basket so soon!

We learned more about Napoleon in History. Today he won all of Austria’s land in Italy. I personally do not remember that Austria had any land in Italy. They probably won it in another war. We read about Waterloo too, the Battle of Waterloo is very famous.

12/13/17

Today we started watching our neighbor’s chickens. She has four hens and she asked us to watch them until Sunday. We get to keep the eggs that they lay during that time. I like the chickens, I am slightly afraid of them, but then again when I first met our cat, Lava I was afraid of him too. (And he is a ‘fraidy-cat)

12/14/17

In history we learned about South America becoming free. And then getting recaptured by the Spanish. And then getting it’s freedom. There are no more ups and downs, sorry. We learned about Simon Bolivar, he is who they named Bolivia after. They are spelled very differently, nevermind, that doesn’t matter very much. Bolivar wanted South America to be run like the US. Although he accomplished much in his lifetime, sadly, his dream was never a reality.

12/15/17

Today we stopped early to go to a thing at about 4:30. We fed the chickens today. They are loud. I am sad that we only have two days left. I hurt my back on Wednesday. It still hurts today. I didn’t get very much school done.

“Frrreezing?” “Not Us Bugs!”

According to bug experts, bugs will be moving into your home to escape the cold weather. So seal all those doors and windows if you don’t want to share your home for the winter. They say that they can also be castaways on furniture, groceries and so on. So you might want to shake out blankets and other things from the garage before you bring them inside. Termites however can not be prevented by closing windows and doors, so you should really have an expert check your house for them so your walls don’t crumble next time you go to paint. Waiting too long makes it harder for the exterminators to deal with it. Because of weather predictions we are expecting more mosquitoes. Lots of excess rainwater plus a warm winter means more baby mosquitoes are born later. Experts are expecting more bugs in houses overall this winter because of the amount of rain, which displaces many bugs looking to stake out the cold underground. So keep an eye out for bugs, they might be staying in your warm house!

Homeschool and Sick Journals 11/13-11/17/17

This week I was sick. It was not fun, I had a cold, a cough, a fever for some of it, and I missed most of parent observation week at ballet. I did some school though.

I think it must have been hard for Jesus to hang out with Judah all that time. He knew that Judah was going to betray Him, and that He was going to suffer from it. It must have been even harder the days before when He knew Judah was thinking about it, and when He made Judah a disciple. I mean, if I knew the future I might not have told Judah where I was going that night, I personally might have sent him on a loooooong errand that night until I was safe in hiding. Luckily, Jesus is not like me.

Journal 11/4/16

Today we read several chapters of the Trojan War, it is a long book. It is really hard to understand, and mom is also having trouble with the names. We did science and it was about how bodyflight works. It would be really cool but a bit scary to bodyfly.

I wrote a limerick, before you read it I would like you to know that they’re not supposed to make sense.

An Ode to Popcorn

By Vella Karman

Popcorn, oh popcorn in a hat

Popcorn, oh popcorn what do you think of that

Delicious and yummy

Popcorn in my tummy

It is even delicious to a cat

Now all I have to do is convince mom to let me have popcorn. The orthodontist is fine with it, but mom isn’t. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Maybe new library in Pine Bluff

Pine Bluff may get a new library, it will be on the ballot for the 8th. The old one flooded and is in a bad location. The population is dropping and this might help. It will probably be on main street if it passes. We will see if it passes very soon.

homeschool journal 10/23/15

Today we went on a field trip to the doctor for Reed and we also went to walgreens to get his med’s, at walgreens we got some candy. The doctor took a long time, but I got to read a school book and a pleaser book although most of my school books are pleaser books because they are mostly realy good books that I have seen on the shelfs and have been longing to read. School went until almost 6:00 pm today and I am tierd of school, I was hoping to be done by 1:00 pm but a proget was harder than I thought. Mom is starting to make diner right now and I should be done with school by now.

I started Leviticus on my bible reading today. The names are tricky in the bible but the part I don’t like about the bible reading I do for school is how much they cut out, I olny get to read about half a book before they move on to the next one. I know the bible is a bit hard to read but, come on.

The project that took so long was writing and making a Japanese- English dictionary, the front was in color and I had to make a cover, it was all paper but I had to put it in alfabetical order and change Japanese in to English and such. It took about 5 to 7 hours/ way too long.

How is the food at the nashville Rockin’ Grill

Author Rosemary Boggs of the Arkansas Denocrat- Gazette say’s about nashville’s Rockin’ Grill. The food was ready pretty quickly. The fried mushrooms were good. She liked the cat fish, although the serving size was big.The fries could of been cooked a bit more. The cole slaw was usual for a restaurant. The hush puppies did not taste fresh and were a little doughy. The “smoked” meatloaf did not taste at all like it was smoked. But she went back later, so I think she liked the restaurant.

homeschool journal 10/22/15

Today science was about reflexes, like blinking and jumping out of the way of something. It was also about habits, it wasn’t gross and it was sort of fun.

We finished the book about camodre perry. We realy liked the book and it has been fun reading it.

We went on a field trip to the pet store to get hamster food for Thor,  to whole foods to get stuff for mom, and the post office to mail something plus get stamps.

We read a not as weird poem about magnets. I even sort of liked it.

Binder work whitch is usaly fun was super fun today!!! I got to write a story to go with a picture they give me. They are usaly intresting pictures that spark a story. I had a ton of fun on this one!!! I can’t wait for the next one!!!

homeschool journal 10/21/15

In bible we read about how they’re is a time for everything. It even says there is a time to hate and a time to love, a time to destroy and a time to build up.

In case for creator we read about a derby race. Did you know that derby races started around the late 1940’s?

Fukuoko is in Japan it means blessed hill north nine states. There are 2.8 million people living there. It is a trading port and is right next to korea and china.

I bearly got a B in spelling. I had new words today.

homeschool journal 10/20/15

In our book about Japan and the U.S becoming friends they exchanged presents. And also had feasts with each other.

We learned about the parts of the brain in science. It was sort of cool, but it was still gross. We saw a picture of a real human brain not inside of a person, it looked almost exactly like the plastic ones except   it had a thing that looked like a big walnut on it.

Someone tried to kill the main character in our book. That was scary.

We read a not that weird poem about a sparrow. It was still sort of weird though, I still liked it.
