Today we read several chapters of the Trojan War, it is a long book. It is really hard to understand, and mom is also having trouble with the names. We did science and it was about how bodyflight works. It would be really cool but a bit scary to bodyfly.

I wrote a limerick, before you read it I would like you to know that they’re not supposed to make sense.

An Ode to Popcorn

By Vella Karman

Popcorn, oh popcorn in a hat

Popcorn, oh popcorn what do you think of that

Delicious and yummy

Popcorn in my tummy

It is even delicious to a cat

Now all I have to do is convince mom to let me have popcorn. The orthodontist is fine with it, but mom isn’t. :):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Maybe new library in Pine Bluff

Pine Bluff may get a new library, it will be on the ballot for the 8th. The old one flooded and is in a bad location. The population is dropping and this might help. It will probably be on main street if it passes. We will see if it passes very soon.

Of the elephants that I mentioned yesterday of 40 only 2 survived. Nothing was really new in history it was what we learned yesterday but in another book. We read three poems about little fictional people like goblins, dwarfs and leprechauns. 120 mph is how fast someone falls. We learned about robots in Cool Stuff 2.0

In History we learned about the Punic Wars. They lasted over 100 years. It was wars between Rome and Carthage. In the end the Carthaginian general, Hannibal, decided to attack with elephants on land while the sea stalemate was going on. That gave the Roman a chance to make a push on the sea and attack Carthage while Hannibal ran away and committed suicide. We read seven poems about things like grasshoppers. Our science experiment was really boring we just put some slides in water.

What is ballet?

Flying, soaring

Flexing, pushing

Leaping, twirling

Happiness, acheivment

Passion, love

Praising God

My life

We read seven poems about bugs, especially bees. In History we learned about the Roman Empire. They took the Greek gods and gave them different names like Zeus to Jupiter. Most of our planets were given names after the Roman gods. The Romans were the first to use concrete by mixing different materials. In Science we learned about the fossil record of flowering plants. The evolutionistic scientists do not know how they supposedly came from non-flowering plants. Out of 300,000 plant species 250,000 are flowering.

“Happy 1/2 price candy day!!!” Is what I would usually say today, but the candy wasn’t 1/2 price!! Oh the horror! It is usually 1/2 price because of Halloween, but it wasn’t this year, but we still found some candy on sale! Yay!!! Today is also the first of November!!! And I’m still in short sleeves, well that’s Arkansas for you. But dad’s birthday is in November, and only two more months until January!!! Wow, seems like it was just yesterday when the new year came, but so much has happened sense then… Speaking of things happening, last night I was thinking about something and they were having a conversation, they were talking about potatoes, and then mom said she couldn’t imagine not having them, at least that’s the part I heard and I said “You can’t imagine having potatoes???” Incredulously, not realizing until after that she was talking about us kids. We got a good laugh out of that one!!! And mom was acting frustrated and Adi said, “If your acting like this you need a nap!” And mom said “Yes I do, can I go take one!!! And Adi said “Once you get me on the computer!”

Today in history we didn’t read the same things in two different books, Yay!!! I think Romans are mostly Greek, they stole their “gods,” stories, and land. The Romans were very rich, and built a lot of roads!!! They had milestones, stones that told you how many miles until you got somewhere. They were the first to use concrete, and aqua-ducts.
