Mom went to her dentist appointment in the morning so we did together stuff late. When we did we learned about Otis I in History who wanted to revive the Roman Empire from Germany and instead founded the non-Roman, non-holy Holy Roman Empire. We also learned about Charlemagne who was the grandson of Charles the Hammer. Charlemagne actually means Charles the Great in French. We read three more poems about city functions and advantages.

In History we learned about the Franks against the Muslims and Charles the Hammer. Charles and the Franks won because the Muslims were greedy. We read four poems about city functions like the library, the zoo and the aquarium.

Happy February! I can’t wait for ballet!! I worked on a report about Arkansas that I am doing today, I researched the trail of tears and some other things.

We read about Charlemagne in history. Forcing people to be Christians isn’t right, but at least he tried to make his kingdom a good place. We read about “The Wind,” and “The Hammer.” They fought and “The Hammer” won.

We read more awful poems, one about trees, and another one about the library, and one about the zoo, I sort of liked the one about the library, we also read one by AA Milne, who wrote Winnie the Pooh, he wrote the one about the zoo. That one had some verses that rhyme with pooh, he must have a thing about that.

In science we learned that Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen named x-rays, x-rays because he didn’t know much about them.

In Bible we read some of the prophecies about Jesus. I think that the Jews thought He would be a powerful ruler because it says He will judge righteously, and that He will strike down the wicked, also it says He will reign as king, and it says again that He will be the king.

Today is the last day of January, so happy January!!! We read poems about mailmen, songs, and ice cream trucks. There are too many poems in the world, I like my own but most of other peoples don’t make sense. We read about Joseph in Bible. We read about the fall of the Byzantine Empire in history. In science we learned about waves and wave lengths.

In Bible we read the genealogy from Esau. InĀ The Children’s Bible Field GuideĀ we learned about how life was in Judea in Jesus’s time. In History we read about the Franks and how they adopted Roman customs and basically were like the Roman settlers they conquered. We read four poems about random things. In Science we learned about temperature and heat. The heat of something is dependent the temperature of it and how much there is. That is why it is harder to heat or cool a larger body of something.

We read about Esau, and his wives and children. Esau and Jacob couldn’t live together because they had too many animals. They have a lot of crazy hard to pronounce names. There were a lot of chiefs that came from Esau. We also learned about Jesus and how Israel was when Jesus was alive. Jesus probably spoke Hebrew, Arimaic, and Greek! Wow that’s a lot!!! Most houses in Judea had one story houses, they only had meat on holidays. Everyone wore tunics.

Isaac died at least 20 years after Jacob tricked him into giving his blessing. In History we learned about the ancient Japanese. We were supposed to read two poems about George Washington but Mom did not read the second one because she could not stand the poor grammar. In Science we learned about SEMs and weather balloons.
