Journal 11/15/16

I think the blog must of deleted this journal, because I wrote it. It is now next week and I don’t know what happened to it, or all of what happened on this day. I am sorry. I drew pictures of two giants and named them Math, and Spelling, then I had to write a bible verse about not being afraid from 1 Samuel 17 under it. I wrote some of what David said to the giant. I didn’t finish science yesterday so I had to answer about 14 questions. It took a long time.

PARADE FOR KOREAN WAR VETERANS

A parade in Fayetteville honored Korean War veterans for Veterans Day. Reed Hamman, one of the few live ones, was Army Special Operations Officer in the war attended the event. The head of the organization that hosted the event said that the Vietnam War overshadowed the Korean War and that soldiers who served in it are “truly forgotten warriors.”

Today we went on a field trip to go shopping, mom took us to khols to look for things we need, and to pickup some food. It took a long time, and then tonight we went shopping at savers, and we found a game we used to have but had to get rid of that wasn’t missing too many pieces, and we got it!!! We played it in the store waiting for dad to finish trying on pants, and it’s really fun. We will get a few days off for thanksgiving, and dad’s birthday is this Saturday. So that’s what’s going on in the next few weeks.

Because of fore mentioned activities we didn’t get much school done, (mom likes to go during the day so it’s not as busy) we didn’t even do our history!!! So I don’t have much to write about, but I did get to do a few things. I did critical thinking, and I labeled things by size for that. And I did handwriting, it was okay. I also finished my reader, it was Shades of Gray, a great book about the time after the civil war.

Today we did not do together stuff or Science Experiment. I read about penguins in Wordly Wise 3000. In Code I made a story using guess what… code! Big surprise. I read seven Psalms that David wrote and had to tell what David probably felt while he wrote it.

Homeschool Journal 11/16/16

We learned about Julius Caesar in History. He became the first Emperor of Rome. We read 10 poems about dogs. In science we learned about cells. Cells are named for the houses of monks. Humans have between 50 and 100 trillion cells.

We learned more about India today. The Mauryan king Asoka became a Buddhist and made his whole country be too. The Qin dynasty was the first kings of China and where the name of China came from. We read 13 poems about snails and toads.

Today we went on a field trip to the library and we stayed a while, they have a contest going on right now, they have quilts all over the place and you vote for a quilt or two, and the quilt with the most votes wins. Some friends were at the library.

We are starting James in Bible, he says to be glad to be tested, I know I won’t always be glad about the test, but I can be glad to have a wonderful God to give me the test. I liked James 1:19-20, it is a good one to think about.

We started a new science book, I never thought I would be this glad to be doing biology again. It still talks about evolution but way less, we did the intro and it seems okay, but we have 28 questions that we have to answer about it and our Friday reader this week, we usually have about 15-16.

We started James today. In The Children’s Bible Field Guide We learned about Saul, David and Jonathan. We read seven poems. We started a new book called What is Science?. We started the Biology section. There are seven things that make the definition of living.

Buddhists literally will not hurt flies. The first Emperor of China has a supposedly boobee trapped tomb. Archaeologists have not dug it up yet.

Today was another loooooooong day of school, we learned about wind tunnels and air pressure in science, as well as a way that they made to prevent gasses from building up, it breaks down the molecules in the gasses, then they are pretty harmless. That is a great way to cut down on any greenhouse gasses, and it would help air pollution too. We also learned about cube worlds, it is a little bit odd, but it might be interesting to watch.
