homeschool journal 3/14/16

Today I wasn’t feeling to good until lunch. We went on a field trip to the gardens, and I planted some broccoli in my 5 feet. It was hard work, but it was still fun!!!

Today in science we learned about emty calories, emty calories are calories that don’t have any nutrience in them.The questions weren’t to hard.

I had to find syninums for gramar. It was hard and fun. I did what I could and then got the theasoarus.

We read three poems today. One about a Praying Mantis. One about a seashell and one about asparagus. In 100 Gateway Cities we learned about Casa Blanca, Layune and Nouakchott. Casa Blanca is 98% Muslim. It has 2,300,000 people. Layune is in West Sahara. Nouakchott has a population of 776,000.

Dental carries is another word for cavities.

In 100 Gateway Cities we learned about Instanbul. It means in the city. It is the largest city in Turkey. 96% of the population is Muslim, 2% nonreligious and 1% Christian.

Today is my birthday!!! At one something in the morning today I turned 11. I got a phone call from my cousins, a birthday card from my grandparents, and a lot of happy birthdays. For those of you who know what this means I did two double pirouettes finally  getting it pretty much down. What I mean to say is it’s been a really awesome day!!!

The Arabs built some underground water canals to take water to places without any and so that farming was possible in more places.

In Bible we started Nahum. In the Muslim golden age they weighed money instead of counting it. In 100 Gateway Cities we learned about Damascus. It is named after Damshak. It has 2,600,000 people. The population is 87% Muslim.

In Bible we started a new book, Obadiah.

In the Muslim golden age they drank out of linen straws. In 100 Gateway Cities we learned about Amman. It means protected by Amman, a local god. It is the capital of Jordan It has large oil deposits and is getting richer. 93% of the people are Muslims, 5% percent are Christian and 3% are nonreligious.

In Saudi Arabia all citizens have to be Muslim. It also is a monarchy.

The way Muslims converted was missionaries were sent out and were army escorted. The army was ordered to kill all resistors.
