Today my computer forced updates on me and that took about 2 hours. We learned about the Scythians. They built mound graves and were sacrificial of humans. We read four poems about fairies. The first two were by William Shakespeare. In Science we learned about simulators, a game called Second Life and a device that projects other people into your shadow.

We read four poems today about Christmas and play time. In History we started the Classic Age. In Science we talked more about birds, dinosaurs and the Archeopteryx. Today we went to our orthodontics appointments and made our mouths hurt more but I got out of rubber bands.

Ostriches have claws.

In Science we learned about the evolution of birds and the Archeopteryx. The three “best” proofs of evolution is ape to man, land mammal to whale and dinosaur to bird. We learned about what people think of the last one today. We read five poems about Christmas. One was from the Bible and another was by Martin Luther and was made into the song Away in a Manger. In History we learned about the art, architecture, science and technology of the ancient world.

In History we learned about the Myceneans and the Persians. The Myceneans were a group of people groups named after the most important of the people groups. Supercomputers have 131,000 microchips and is two million times faster than a laptop. Went to the Chiropractor and the scout shop.

Today mom and Adi went to the store, and library and Reed and I stayed home to do school. I probably spent at least an hour on critical thinking, I had to take strips of paper and fold them, and then I had to cut them into circles to make big and small hooked circles. It was really hard because if the paper was too thick then it wouldn’t fold, but if it was too thin then it would brake and not form the loops, and for about half of it the scissors I was using weren’t working right.

Math was okay. It didn’t teach me anything today, I am on lesson 20 something and I have already done 4 quizzes, I wonder when it will stop reviewing? Oh well, better too easy than too hard.

We started school late today. We did our together stuff backwards from poems to The Children’s Bible Field Guide. We read four more poems about Chirstmas. In History we learned about the rise of the Persians and Cyrus the Great. If he was such a fair person why did he steal the throne from his grandfather?

Today in History we learned about Homer and read the story of the Cyclops from the Iliad. Iliad was one of my spelling words today so I can spell it. We three read poems about Christmas. In Science we learned more about whales. The one that supposedly first had a fluke actually they did not find the tail bone and rest of the skeleton did not have the right vertebrae to have a fluke. A random fact I found today is what wind speeds define different wind types:

4-31 mph=breeze

32-63=gale

64-73=storm

74 and higher=hurricane

I read about Moses being found by the Egyption princess in the Bible today, I really like this story about Moses because I like how he is in the basket and that the princess is nice and keeps him from being killed by taking him, I am just assuming that she is doing it to be nice.

Science is still about whale evolution, they can’t agree what animal they think whales came from. It is very… crazy, they are using absolute circular reasoning.

Today we learned about how the barbarians who took over Greece became “civilized”. we learned about the Greek alphabet and the Olympics. We read six poems about fall and fog. We read about an alligator that scientists called a “walking whale” in Science.
