Summer Journal 7/11/17

We are behind in school and we want to be done with it, so Mom has started to just read a lot of our History and science so that we can finish sooner. We read a lot of poems!!! Mom is going to our Great Grandpa’s funeral and memorial service two weeks from now, so we are going to take that week off.

In bible we read about David. We read the story about the rich man who took the only sheep the poor man had. I’ve heard versions of this story, but I don’t remember it being about David!!! I’ve always known it as King George and the Ducky.

This week was a very eventfuI week!!! got my sling off on Thursday, yay yay yay. On Friday Bella and I had a sleepover and on Saturday the pool opened and we had a bake sale but it didn’t go too well but it was ok after my grandparents doubled it. I also got some school done this week. I only have two lessons left in math!! I am almost done with Wordly Wise and I have a ton of Critical Thinking left. I can’t wait till 7th grade, but I’m sure I can last until after summer.

Today Reed was better so we did history. The power went out for 15 minutes this morning, those fixing crews sure work fast. In history we learned that the French civil war was started by people and leaders fighting over religion. Again making it a law that you have to be one religion is horrible.

In science we learned about weather prediction. Most of our weather prediction is from satellites and radar. We saw a cool picture of a hurricane from above. Did you know photosynthesis means building with light?

Summer Journal 6/22/17

Today Reed was sick again. So I didn’t do history, science, bible, read-aloud, or math today so let’s see if I can find something to write about, eh. I wrote a  letter to Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout, asking her to please take the garbage out and I think it’s pretty funny if I say so myself. In fact mom thought it was funny too. I like writing friendly letters, I will try to use my new knowledge when I am writing to my pen pals. I can’t wait to be done with school!!! I spent over an hour on a Critical thinking page and then at the end mom finally pointed out the answer, she said I really need to memorize my multiplication tables.

Summer Journal 6/21/17

Today Reed wan’t feeling well so I did history on my own and we didn’t do science, read aloud or bible.

I did the last quiz in math today so I am done with it for the year, other than summer math. I got an A+ too. I am glad I got an A+ I can’t wait to get my report card. I am glad we don’t do holding back in homeschooling, even though I don’t think I would get held back.

In English I did the pre-writing for a persuasive letter. It is really interesting and I think I will have a lot of fun writing a persuasive letter to “Sarah Sylvia Cynthia Stout” convincing her to “please take the garbage out.”

Summer Journal 6/20/17

We learned a bit about Shakespeare in history. We heard a summery of one of his plays, it was horrible. We didn’t learn anything about the suspicions that Shakespeare didn’t actually write his own plays.

I think if Paul gave me some advise it would be to stand strong in the Lord, not be afraid, and to remember God is on my side. If I had to choose one body part it would be probably the heart or the head, ’cause without those where would you be?

In science we learned about extreme weather. We learned about everything from ice to heat stroke. Did you know that the sun causes wrinkles? I didn’t, isn’t that so interesting!

Summer Journal 6/19/17

It is summer and yes we are still doing school but it is only until we finish and we only have three more full weeks. I can’t wait till we’re done, also after summer I think 7th grade will be fun.

We learned about Bloody Mary and her sister Good Queen Bess in history. Forcing religion is a horrible way to rule.

I answered the questions for pre-writing a book review. I learned about adverbs, I get all the adverbs, pronouns and adjectives, ect, all mixed up.

I think Paul was willing to suffer all that hardship because he loved God so much and he wanted to serve Him.

Summer Journal 6/19/17

In history we learned about Bloody Mary and Queen Elizabeth (who were sisters) and Italian City-states during the Renaissance. In science we learned about the water cycle, clouds and storms. In The Young Naturalist we learned about flowers and trees. We read two random poems. In The Children’s Bible Field Guide we learned about Paul’s letters to Timothy and Titus.

When Mom and Dad went on the cruise Lava went with Adi and I to stay with some friends who live in the country, Lava got fleas there. We got a flea collar and thought we had them under control, then the dogs came. They made it 10x worse and spread them all over the house. Now we all have them. Yes, I have fleas crawling around on me right now, biting me and driving me crazy. A sling and fleas, perrrrrfect combanation. That was not a pun, it was sarcastic. Buuut, back to the point, we are going to take the pets to boarding places where they will get treatment, and board while we fog the house and go camping. Then we will come back, vacuum and steam clean the carpets. Sooooooo, those are our plans for the weekend. I didn’t get much school done today, because as previously mentioned I have been-let’s say… preoccupied?

I am very very very behind. I have a little less than a week of school to do. I’m still not done with Tuesdays school, oh yeah, of last week. School is like a pit that’s being dug, I am trying to fill it up, but for every shovel-full of dirt I put in, three more get shoveled out. So that’s been my day, shoveling dirt. Oh and also we went to the library and I got my summer reading!!! I can’t wait to start them, If I ever fill the hole until tomorrow I am staring them early!!! Also I listened to this really great song you should listen to, it’s called “Hills and Valleys.”
