US DESTROYER COLLIDES WITH OIL TANKER OF SINGAPORE

The destroyer USS John S. McCain collided with an oil tanker three times larger near Singapore very early last Monday morning. Ten sailors are missing and five injured. US and Singaporean ships and helicopters are involved in the search and rescue mission. The collision  happened days after the United States published a list of mistakes the crew of the USS Fitzgerald made last month in their collision.

PENTAGON SENDS 4,000 MORE US TROOPS TO AID AFGHANISTAN

The United States has decided to send 4,000 extra troops to Afghanistan where the US recently helped them form their special operations unit. Some Americans still push to completely pull out of the country or to hire mercenaries after withdrawal. The US military supports their decision by saying that they want to make sure there is no threat of terrorism to the United States. The Afghans say they want as much help as they can get. The new soldiers are planned to help Afghanistan increase and expand their spec-ops unit on top of regular duties.

Yesterday we didn’t do school because it was Adi’s birthday! So today I did some make-up work. I “learned” how to borrow in math. We went on a field trip to the Chiropractor today, I got to do some reading. In my school reading I read a book about silkworms and moths. It was sort of gross. I memorized Phillipians 1:2-3 for Bible this week, it is a good one to memorize. But then again it would do us good, and all of them are good for, memorizing.

Today we started late because every one woke up late. In The BBC Manual we learned about the books and structure of the New Testament. In The real Bible Judas hanged himself and Jesus was tried, tortured and crucified. In History we learned abut Jamestown. We read one poem by Shakespeare from hamlet that Mom memorized in high school. During A Murder For Her Majesty we looked up different memory types. All my Current Events are about the US military. I did one lesson of Algebra 1 exactly again. I have read one chapter of Genesis starting at chapter 1 and going in order since Day 1. I read two chapters of The King’Fifth. I have not done Lynda.com yet because my computer is still broken but should be working soon. I have not done today’s Science or all of yesterday’s either. I am again writing this a day late. Now I am writing from yesterday’s point of view again. We went to the library today I returned 11 books and got five more. I continued reading Keys to the Demon Prison. In reference to September 17, 2017 Pokemon card game decks usually use 1-3 types of Pokemon with energies to go with them plus the Colorless type of which never requires specific energies to attack. My friend we met at the gym had a lot of types of Pokemon but two types of energy and not nearly enough of either. Also with the actual Pokemon some cards require their younger versions of themselves to be in play to enter play so each Pokemon can grow up through the course of each battle.

Today I didn’t finish school because I have a fever. We went on a field trip to Adi’s gymnastics, it was cool. We got color-changing cups with their symbol on it.

Did you know that peace means with, something? Well I guess that means with God!!! Isn’t it cool how much the Bible says and how much their is to still learn about it and who wrote it? Whenever I read a good book, (especially when it’s with C.S. Lewis) I wonder about and wish I could talk to the authors, well this book is one I can talk to the author of, and guess what? He’s my best friend!!!

I revised my essay for LA today and I think it turned out pretty well if I do say so myself.

Fast food? No, faster food!

The fast food industry is becoming even faster, and sit-down restaurants are trying to catch up. You can now order your food on Amazon, as well as pay for it! You can also order food on Facebook and other social medias. Now that people want it faster, competition to be the fastest has started. There are bots that talk to you, and pick up counters are becoming even more crowded. So there are now no fast food restaurants, there are just faster and faster ones!

In The BBC Manual we learned about the structure and different types of books in the Bible. In the real Bible we read about Jesus’ being betrayed, arrest and being abandoned and Peter’s denial. We went to the house we are renting out to sign a contract with our new renters and watch the solar eclipse. It was at 80% in Little Rock. In history we learned about King James I of England and VI of Scotland. He was the one of issued the King James Bible and persecuted the pilgrims who went on the Mayflower. My computer broke yesterday so I did not do Korean while we ran out of vinegar so I have to wait for science. I did one lesson of Algebra 1 exactly. I actually started it in the lecture and finished on the last question. Over the weekend I finished In Too Deep, How to Ride a Dragon’s Storm, Nightmare of the Iguana and The Griffin’s Riddle and started Keys to the Demon Prison. In Too Deep is Book 6 in The 39 Clues. How To Ride A Dragon’s Storm is Book 7 in How To Train Your Dragon. Nightmare of the Iguana is Book 8 of Dragonbreath. The Griffin’s Riddle is Book 5 of The Imaginary Veterinary. Keys To The Demon Prison is Book 5 of Fablehaven. I read two chapters of my The King’s Fifth today. We did not get back from our old house until 3 and we left for it before lunch. I am writing this from perspective of yesterday because it did not get done then along with Korean. Yesterday (which I am calling today again now) I continued reading Keys to the Demon Prison.

We went to the library today. It was a lot of fun and I got over 20 books! Don’t worry, I returned all the ones I had already.

In Bible we learned that the word Gospel means good tidings, so the story of Jesus is called good news, literaly. The reason there are five versions of the same story is because they are written to different people, Greeks, Romans, Ect… The reason there are 500 years without a book in the Bible is not because God didn’t do anything, it is because God didn’t do anything through a prophet that He also inspired to write a book. Did you ever notice the Bible is the only book in the world that can actually make you wise? How in the world did the Pharisies not notice they were fulfilling prophies?

Solar Eclipse 8/21/17

Reed’s account of the event:

“We went to our old house which we are renting to sign a contract with our new renters. We didn’t do any housework on it and went out to look at the eclipse every fifteen minutes. We baked donuts too. This isn’t very eloquent because my mom is just typing what I’m saying word for word.”

Vella’s account of the event:

“We went over to the LaMarche house to see the solar eclipse and we looked at it in about 15 minute intervals with eclipse glasses. It was really cool and interesting, at first it looked like a cookie with a bite out of it. It seemed to move really fast but obviously it’s really us-we’re the ones moving. Then it looked like half the cookie was gone. I missed the part where it was in the middle but all the parts I saw were really interesting. I can’t believe it was over in just a couple hours. I’ve always thought those things moved really slow. We also made eclipse donuts. They were homemade from the dough of my favorite cake and we had delicious chocolate glaze. We actually made an eclipse with one donut with the glaze on it and one without. The one without was the sun and we made our own eclipse, on a mini scale of course. I had a great time and I can’t wait until the next one in seven years.”

Adi’s account of the event:

” I think it was cool because the moon came in front of the sun.”

Today is the eclipse!!! Yay! We are going outside to see it when it happens! It is going to be so much fun! I know, you might be thinking why is she writing going to? That is because it is only 11:22 AM, (I finished school early.) We are also renting out the house today! So it is an exciting day, actually it is going to be an exciting week, Adi’s birthday, Adi’s first day of gymnastics, Reed’s doctor appointment, ect… We are taking Thursday, (Adi’s birthday) off from school, so I am going to be doing extra school to make it up throughout the week.

I am going to write another essay this week about the definition of courage. I think I might be writing an essay every week from now on!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love writing essays, but an essay a week sounds intimidating when you are used to one or two a semester!

We over-viewed the layout of the bible today. Did you ever notice that in Matthew it says peter cursed and swore when he was denying Christ? So no only he denied Him, he also lied, and swore!

Did you know that the King James Bible was named after the king who ordered it to be made? He ordered a Bible to be made so that Protestants, Purists, and Catholics would all have the same Bible. History is sad, there is too much killing and wars for me.
